This policy explains what personal information Dookademy collects, why, who we share it with and the choices you have. Dookademy is operated by Dooke LLC, Ocala, Florida 34472, United States ("we", "us"). Questions: [email protected].
Account information: your name, email address and password (stored only as a secure hash). If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile photo from Google; we copy the photo to our own storage to use as your avatar.
Profile and preferences: language, time zone, avatar, notification preferences.
Learning activity: courses you enroll in, lesson progress, quiz answers and scores, assignment submissions and the files you upload, feedback from teachers, and certificates (which show your name).
Community content: discussion posts, course reviews and reports you send.
Purchases: what you bought, amounts, dates, tax information and payment status. Card details are entered and processed by Stripe; we never see or store your full card number.
Emails we send you: which emails were sent (e.g. account verification, password reset, receipts, notifications) and their delivery status, including whether they were delivered, bounced or opened (through a small image in the email).
Technical and security data: IP address, browser and device type for your signed-in sessions, sign-in history, and data needed to prevent abuse (such as rate limiting).
To create and secure your account, sign you in and let you manage your sessions.
To provide courses, track your progress, grade assignments and issue certificates.
To process payments, provide receipts and meet our tax and accounting obligations.
To send service emails (verification, security, receipts, course and community notifications you can manage in your settings).
To keep the platform safe, prevent fraud and abuse, and fix problems.
To improve the platform. We do not sell your personal information and we do not use advertising trackers.
We use trusted providers that process data on our behalf, only for the purposes above:
Hostinger (servers in Boston, United States): servers that run the platform and its database.
Cloudflare: network security, content delivery and file storage (Cloudflare R2).
Amazon Web Services (Amazon SES), United States: sending emails and reporting their delivery.
Stripe: payment processing and tax calculation.
Google: only if you choose "Continue with Google".
Video providers (Vimeo, Mux): to play lesson videos; they may set their own cookies when a video plays.
Anthropic: to draft translations of course content written by our team. No learner information is sent.
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of our users and of Dookademy. Some providers are located outside your country (including the United States); we rely on their contractual and security commitments to protect your information.
We use only the cookies needed for the site to work: your sign-in session, security protections, your language and display preferences, and (during our private preview) a cookie that remembers you entered the preview password. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies.
Your account and learning data: as long as your account is open.
Email delivery records: 180 days.
Purchase and invoicing records: as long as the law requires (7 years).
When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information, except what we must keep by law (such as invoices).
You can access and update your information in your account settings, download your certificates, manage notifications, sign out of your devices, and delete your account at any time from Account settings. You may also ask us to access, correct or delete your information, or ask a question about how we handle it, by writing to [email protected]. You may have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
We protect your information with encryption in transit (HTTPS), hashed passwords, two-step verification for staff, private file storage and access controls. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects you, we will notify you as required by law.
Dookademy is not intended for children under 16. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
We may update this policy. We will post the new version here with a new date and, for important changes, tell you by email or on the site.
