Terms of Service

You must create an account to access most of the Service. You're responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access — you can also enable two-factor authentication in your account settings for extra protection, and we require it for teacher and admin accounts.

You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep it up to date. You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you're under 18, you confirm you have a parent or guardian's permission to use the Service.

Dookademy offers both free courses (available to any registered account) and premium courses (available with an active DTA membership, or purchased individually where offered). Course access is personal to your account and may not be shared, resold, or transferred.

Some lessons unlock sequentially as you complete the ones before them — this is intentional, to encourage learning in order, not a bug. Course content, structure, and availability may change over time; we'll do our best to preserve access to material you've already started.

DTA membership is a recurring monthly subscription billed through our payment processor, Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel. You can cancel anytime from your account settings — your access continues until the end of the billing period you've already paid for, and you won't be charged again after that.

Deleting your account also ends your membership: the subscription is cancelled before your data is removed, so no further charges are made. Cancelling a membership on its own, without deleting your account, simply ends premium access at the end of the period you've already paid for.

We don't store your full card number — Stripe handles and secures all payment information directly. Prices are shown in USD and may change with advance notice. Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis; contact us if you believe you were charged in error.

If you apply to teach on Dookademy and are approved, additional terms apply to your relationship with us as an instructor — see the Instructor Agreement, which you accept when you apply. They cover how courses are reviewed and published, and how instructor compensation is calculated and paid. You retain ownership of the course content you create, and grant us a license to host, display, and deliver it to students as part of the Service, for as long as your course remains available on the platform.

Published courses go through a review step before changes go live, so students always have a stable, working version of a course while updates are prepared.

We may also build a course on an instructor's behalf and send it to them for approval. In that case the course isn't published until that instructor reviews it and either approves it — which publishes it and makes them the named instructor — or declines it with a reason. Nothing is published under an instructor's name without their approval.

The Service includes community features — posts, comments, and discussion tied to courses you're enrolled in. Your use of these features is also governed by our Community Guidelines, which are part of these Terms. We may remove content or restrict access for violations of those guidelines.

The Service, including its design, courses, videos, text, and branding (excluding instructor-owned course content as described above), is owned by Dooke Tech and protected by intellectual property law. You may not copy, redistribute, download and share, or create derivative works from course content beyond your own personal learning use, without our written permission.

Anything you post in the community (comments, posts) remains yours, but you grant us a license to display it as part of the Service, including to other members of the community context it was posted in.

You agree not to:

• Share your account or course access with people who haven't paid for or been granted it
• Attempt to download, scrape, or redistribute course video content
• Interfere with the Service's security, including attempting to bypass access controls or two-factor authentication
• Harass, impersonate, or misrepresent your identity to other members or staff
• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from Profile → Security in your account settings. Deleting your account cancels any active DTA membership first, so you aren't billed again, and then permanently removes your profile, enrollments, progress, notes, and community activity. This can't be undone.

Administrator accounts are the one exception: they can't be deleted from the account settings, because removing an administrator affects the platform as a whole. Another administrator has to remove them, and the platform owner must transfer ownership before their own account can be removed.

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, our Community Guidelines, or if required by law. Where reasonable, we'll try to give notice before doing so.

How we collect, use and protect your information is set out in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms. By using the Service you agree to it.

The Service uses cookies and your browser's local storage to keep you signed in, remember preferences like language and dark mode, and load pages faster on a return visit. We don't use advertising or third-party tracking cookies. The first time you visit we show a cookie notice; you can decline simply by not accepting it, and you can clear or block this storage at any time from your browser settings. The Service is provided "as is." We work hard to keep it running reliably and to keep course content accurate and useful, but we don't guarantee the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any particular learning or career outcome will result from using it.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Dooke LLC and its officers, employees, and instructors won't be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.

We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll update the "Last updated" date above, and for significant changes, we'll make a reasonable effort to notify active members by email or an in-app notice. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Florida, unless otherwise required by applicable law.
